Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Android Developer to join our mobile development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver engaging user experiences and innovative mobile solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin and/or Java.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Work with outside data sources and APIs (REST, JSON, etc.).
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks.
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in Android app development.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
- Solid understanding of the Android SDK, Android UI design principles, and best practices.
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
- Strong understanding of mobile app architecture patterns (MVP, MVVM, Clean Architecture).
- Experience with Android Jetpack components (Room, ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, etc.).
- Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CI/CD tools and processes.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of Firebase, Google Play Store deployment, and analytics tools.
- Contributions to open-source projects or personal apps in the Play Store.
