Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Ensure the reliability and availability of digital services, applications, and systems through proactive monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Kubernetes to automate the deployment, scaling, and management of systems.
- Continuously optimize system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance the overall user experience.
- Set up robust monitoring and alerting systems to detect and respond to issues in real-time, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Analyse system usage trends and plan for capacity scaling to accommodate growing user demands.
- Lead incident response efforts, perform post-incident analysis, and work on preventive measures to reduce the likelihood of future incidents.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain security best practices, including vulnerability scanning, patch management, and access controls.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and ensure reliable releases.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with software development teams to ensure that reliability and scalability are integrated into the development lifecycle.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical systems and services
Preferred candidate profile
- Proficiency in micro-services architecture, and scalabl and scalable architectures
- Strong background in software development, with proficiency in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Expertise in Linux/Unix systems administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Experience with DevOps practices and a commitment to automation and continuous improvement.
