Job Description
- The DBA Lead with MySQL Expertise will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical MySQL database systems. This role requires strong technical leadership to mentor a team of DBAs, ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of the organization's data. The successful candidate will collaborate with development teams, optimize database performance, and ensure operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Database Architecture & Design : Design and implement scalable and highly available MySQL database solutions. Collaborate with application development teams to understand data requirements and ensure optimal database performance. Develop and enforce database standards, procedures, and best practices. Database Administration & Maintenance Install, configure, upgrade, and patch MySQL databases. Monitor and address database performance issues proactively. Implement backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data. Ensure data integrity and security via access controls, encryption, and auditing. Performance Tuning & Optimization Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Optimize queries and indexes for enhanced efficiency. Continuously monitor and fine-tune database systems for optimal performance. Troubleshooting & Support Diagnose and resolve complex database-related issues. Provide technical support to development teams. Participate in an on-call rotation for critical database issues. Team Leadership & Mentorship Offer technical guidance and mentorship to the DBA team. Delegate tasks effectively and foster a collaborative team environment. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Expertise : Extensive experience in MySQL database administration (installation, configuration, performance tuning). Strong knowledge of SQL and database design principles. Experience with replication, clustering, and high availability solutions. Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems. Proficiency in scripting languages (e., Bash, Python) for automation. Leadership & Communication Proven leadership and mentoring experience in a technical setting. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 9+ years of experience in MySQL database administration. 3+ years of experience in a team lead or supervisory role.
