Job Description

As a Privacy Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the organization's compliance with data protection laws, regulations, and best practices. You will be responsible for evaluating, developing, and implementing privacy policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard personal and sensitive information. Your expertise in privacy regulations and your ability to analyze complex data protection issues will contribute to maintaining a culture of privacy and data security within the organization.

  • Stay up to date with global privacy laws and regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Cayman Islands Data Protection Act (2021 Revision) and the requirements of The Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2022. Assess the organization's current practices against these requirements and develop strategies to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and maintain privacy policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards that align with applicable regulations and industry best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and communicate these policies effectively.
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to identify and mitigate privacy risks associated with the processing of personal data. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to assess the impact of new projects, systems, or processes on data protection and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Develop and deliver privacy training programs and awareness campaigns to promote a privacy-conscious culture within the organization. Educate employees on their responsibilities in handling personal and sensitive data and provide guidance on privacy-related queries.
  • Assist in the investigation and management of privacy incidents, breaches, or complaints. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and appropriate responses, including reporting incidents to relevant authorities as required.
  • Conduct regular privacy audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of privacy controls, policies, and procedures. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to focus on Privacy by Design and thereby embed privacy principles into the design and development of new products, features, and systems. Provide guidance on data anonymization, data minimization, and privacy-enhancing technologies.
  • Stay informed about emerging privacy trends, technologies, and regulatory changes. Act as a subject matter expert and provide recommendations to cross-functional teams on privacy-related matters, advocating for privacy-conscious practices and initiatives.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant hands-on work experience implementing privacy program in a large organization.
  • Strong understanding of global privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and others.
  • Experience in implementing data protection and privacy frameworks within an organization.
  • Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex privacy issues and propose practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, HIPAA) are highly desirable.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a healthcare background.
  • Project Management & Excellent communication skills.
  • Lead by example in terms of adherence to organizations privacy policies, standards & procedures.
  • Self-motivated individual who works well in a team environment.
  • Self-driven, with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
