DevOps Engineer - Bengaluru/Bangalore - SAP @ SAP India

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

As an integral member of the T&I SAP CP CORE Engineering & Delivery Services India Organization Bangalore, India, you will be importance for contributing to the following project & team and work as a fully contributing team member acted to the robust product i.e. SAP NetWeaver with highest quality.

The Landscape & Infra Team which is part of the T&I SAP CP CORE Engineering & Delivery Services India Organization has a critical responsibility to Build & Manage All Systems required for:

• Delivering High Quality Support Packs for all NW releases -> Enable Test Teams to qualify the planned shipments
• Delivering High Quality ABAP stack for SAP S/4HANA -> Enable the Development Teams to Develop/Test/Correct functionalities for the ABAP platform
• Demonstrating High Service Quality -> Ensure Continuous & Timed processing of the User Management BCP ticket queue
• And The Team Caters to:
• External Customers : Existing customer base of around 13K in EP, 11K in PI, 17K in BW & more to be taken care of under the standard maintenance of SAP NW until 2025 and beyond
• Internal Customers : SAP S/4 HANA
• Landscapes: NW Java & ABAP Landscapes, VIM Infra, Galaxy and Central ABAP Landscape[Both OnPrem & On-Cloud]
• # Of Systems Provisioned: 400 Java Systems, 800 Central Abap Systems and 4500 systems on VIM Infrastructure

EXPECTATIONS & TASKS :

• As SAP Basis Consultant you will be importance for the following:
• Setup and Manage SAP NW Systems[Java & ABAP] from 7.0X to 752
• Track NW Release Plan and Delivery Milestones & work in collaboration with the Internal Test Teams for system issues
• Service and Support the Internal Test Teams with timely provisioning of the required NW Java & ABAP Systems
• To carry out tasks of User management, system provisioning & system patching for NW systems
• Co-ordinate the Overall VIM Infrastructure Migration to other infrastructure
• Manage and Service the Central ABAP Landscape systems[Both on-prem & cloud] & make sure that the systems are properly setup/configured for developers in the ABAP Platform
• Maintaining System landscape for ABAP environment mainly wrt ABAP System Administration Tasks like user authorization & Transport Management
• Monitor & Service the BCP User Management Incident queue processing for the Overall Landscape
• Work in collaboration with the Walldorf Teams/DLM Support Teams
• Provide Governance for requests from the development and quality management teams
• Ensure Proper documentation, Definition of technical operational concepts and guidelines for the implemented SAP NW landscapes and roll out of this information/knowledge to the rest of the team

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Solid know-how on SAP Technologies like SAP NetWeaver or HANA based systems
• Deep Expertise in SAP Basis & Windows Administration [UNIX/Linux environment] including HANA DB and VIM Infrastructure
• BCP User Management Incident processing Know How is an added advantage
• Ability to work effectively in global and virtual teams
• Capacity to continuously acquire new knowledge in an sovereign & proactive way
• Good analytical and solution oriented thinking
• Good communication and networking skills
• Strong customer focus and service minded

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years of work experience as Technical SAP NetWeaver Consultant (ABAP and Java Basis Administration)
• Experience in operating DB?s like HANA platform, MySQL & SAP Max DB based environments for NW systems
• Very Good Working experience in Installation, Configuration and Administration of SAP NW systems, DB?s and Kernel Upgrades
• Good knowledge on Central User Administration is required
• Project experience in working with Global Teams
