Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated GIS Experts to join our growing team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in GIS principles, experience with geospatial data management and analysis, and a passion for leveraging mapping technologies to support our business objectives. This role will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and analyzing geospatial data, developing maps and visualizations, and providing GIS support to various teams within the company.
Responsibilities:
Data Management:
- Collect, process, and maintain geospatial data from various sources (e.g., GPS surveys, satellite imagery, aerial photography, existing databases).
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency through validation and quality control procedures.
- Develop and maintain geodatabases, including schema design, feature class management, and spatial indexing.
GIS Analysis:
- Perform spatial analysis using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) to identify patterns, trends, and relationships in geospatial data.
Map Creation & Visualization:
- Design and create high-quality maps and visualizations for various purposes, including reports, presentations, and web applications.
- Utilize cartographic principles to effectively communicate geographic information.
GIS Support:
- Provide GIS support to internal teams, including troubleshooting, data access, and training.
- Stay updated on the latest GIS technologies and trends.
- Document GIS processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mapping Science, Geography, GIS, Geomatics, or a related field (Mapping Science undergraduates preferred).
Experience: 1-3 years of experience working with GIS software and geospatial data. Experience in mapping/geospatial roles is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of geospatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, geodatabases, raster data).
Experience with spatial analysis techniques and tools.
Familiarity with cartographic principles and map design.
Experience with data cleaning, transformation, and validation.
Knowledge of geodetic principles and coordinate systems.
