Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in SQL development and database engineering. The ideal candidate should have 710 years of experience in designing, optimizing, and maintaining complex database systems, writing stored procedures, performance tuning, and working closely with application and analytics teams to ensure efficient data flows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, write, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
- Perform database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Manage and maintain large-scale OLTP/OLAP database systems.
- Work closely with application developers and analysts to support data requirements.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the database systems.
- Analyze existing procedures and refactor them for improved performance and readability.
- Assist with data migrations, ETL processes, and production support as needed. Required Skills & Experience:
- 710 years of experience in SQL development and database engineering.
- Deep understanding of RDBMS concepts, indexing, execution plans, and transaction management.
- Strong experience with T-SQL, PL/SQL, or equivalent (depending on platform).
- Experience in performance tuning and query optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with Azure SQL or other enterprise-grade DBMS.
- Good understanding of stored procedures, triggers, cursors, and functions.
- Ability to work independently and handle database-centric projects end to end.
- Exposure to data modeling and ETL pipelines is a plus.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with cloud platform like Azure.
- Knowledge of Python or data transformation frameworks is a bonus.
