Job Description

Overview:

A Data Analyst at CorroHealth is responsible for analyzing healthcare data, ensuring coding accuracy, and providing insights to improve medical billing and reimbursement processes. They work closely with medical coders, compliance teams, and healthcare professionals to optimize revenue cycle management and maintain regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection & Processing:

  • Extract, clean, and validate healthcare data from Electronic Health Records (EHR), billing systems, and databases.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and data security standards.

Medical Coding Analysis:

  • Analyse medical coding data (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) to identify trends, discrepancies, and errors.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with medical coding standards and payer guidelines.
  • Work with coding teams to improve coding efficiency and minimize denials.

Revenue Cycle & Claim Analysis:

  • Monitor claim submissions, denials, and reimbursements to identify revenue leakage.
  • Provide insights to optimize medical billing and insurance claim processes.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to enhance revenue cycle performance.

Data Visualization & Reporting:

  • Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or Excel to track key performance indicators (KPIs) like coding accuracy, claim denial rates, and reimbursement trends.
  • Present findings to stakeholders, including coders, auditors, and management.

Regulatory Compliance & Audit Support:

  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing data-driven reports.
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations (HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific policies).

Process Improvement & Automation:

  • Use SQL, Python, or R to automate data extraction and analysis tasks.
  • Recommend process enhancements to improve coding accuracy and billing efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in any field
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in SQL for querying medical data.
    • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Excel).
    • Knowledge of programming languages (Python, R) for data analysis is a plus.
    • Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and medical coding software.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret complex healthcare data and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
