Job Description
- As an Engineer - Production (Supply Chain Network), you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the production processes within the supply chain network of the organization
- Your primary focus will be on ensuring efficient and cost-effective production operations while maintaining high-quality standards
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, procurement, and quality control, to achieve production goals and improve overall supply chain performance
Responsibilities:
- Production Planning: Develop production plans and schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and inventory levels
- Coordinate with different departments to ensure the availability of resources, materials, and equipment
- Process Optimization: Continuously review and analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize production flow, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency
- Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality control team to establish and maintain quality standards for production processes
- Monitor product quality and implement corrective actions to address any deviations or non-conformities
- Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth flow of materials and components within the supply chain network
- Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory
- Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost
- Analyze data and generate reports to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the production processes to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs
- Implement best practices and explore new technologies or methodologies to optimize production operations
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, procurement, logistics, and maintenance, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of goals
- Collaborate on projects and initiatives that require cross-functional support
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the production environment
- Identify and address potential safety hazards and implement preventive measures
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent
- A Master's degree may be preferred
- Experience: Previous experience in production planning, supply chain management, or related roles is required
- Experience with process optimization methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is highly desirable
Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
- Familiarity with production planning software and ERP systems
- Knowledge: Sound understanding of production processes, supply chain management concepts, and quality control principles
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to production operations
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proactive approach towards identifying and implementing process improvements
- Willingness to stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices
