Job Description

Solution Architect will interact with clients, product managers, and developers in order to envision, model and provide initial models of designs that can be built. This role is a key member of the Delivery project team and is responsible for the overall design of applications and mapping client business requirements to systems/technical requirements. The Solution Architect works as a team member along with senior managers, PM's and developers, Technical Architect and supporting team members to deliver the complete solution for the customer. They will be responsible for constant review of the code to ensure the quality of the design by avoiding complexity and advocating clarity with the team, which requires hand-on work in developing prototypes, contributing code or evaluation technologies. Solution Architect will guide the business in which technologies it should be using and what new technologies it should be considering. This role includes working collaboratively with a degree of humility and mentoring staff as required. Competencies: Using domain knowledge to design the software strategy at FAI Using market information and trends to predict the future role of technology within the Title insurance business Developing applications that are aligned to the domain and the business Bringing a perspective of the best practices being followed in the industry Demonstrates the qualities of "Practitioner" Developing a Master Data Management Strategy Defining the data security standards Defining data governance Guiding the teams on Data Architecture Drive organization wide software strategies Supporting and driving organization's technology initiatives both at an individual level and as a team Applying industry standard practices and mentor different teams as necessary Resolving problems and identifying opportunities for improvement across the architecture job family Supporting creation of thought leadership (POVs, research papers) across the architecture job family Guiding teams on the Infrastructure architecture concepts Resolving problems and identifying opportunities for improvement across knowledge areas Guiding teams in the Middleware architecture framework Resolving problems and identifying opportunities for improvement in the Middleware architecture framework Implementing measures to meet quality cost requirements, by applying standards such as CoSQ (Cost of Software Quality) Defining standards and applying industry best practices Resolving problems and identifying opportunities for improvement across knowledge areas Guiding teams about the Application and its different modules Providing suggestions and enhancements to the application Resolving problems faced within the development of these applications Assessing and diagnosing issues relating to the Enterprise architecture frameworks Determining preliminary solutions to identified issues and gaps Creating the project charter for the project to clearly list out project objectives, duration, milestones, etc. Assessing and evaluating project planning & management tools to recommend tools for use Identifying risks across the project life-cycle and conceive mitigation strategies Creating program plans spanning across multiple projects modules to drive overall program effectiveness in terms of quality, cost and time Measuring program performance against target and publish dashboards to leadership Analyzing scope change requests to make informed decision on resourcing, cost and time estimation Measuring program performance against target and publish dashboards to leadership Creating and executing test plans that suit project requirements Measuring and publishing the overall application/product quality Effectively managing all escalations in-line with organization norms The ideal candidate must be focused, motivated, and driven. Technical Skills: Competent on AWS/ Azure Cloud Architecture with min 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience on their key features, advantages and disadvantages Cloud strategy & guiding principles Cloud reference architecture and integration (public/private/hybrid model) Concepts and techniques related to architecture assessment and roadmap creation Data Modeling Tools, such as Visio and Database Systems, such as SQL Server Knowledge of UML and design notations Knowledge of Agile, incremental, OOP approaches Multi-tiered application architectures and common enterprise application stacks (Angular JS, .NET, Open Source) Concepts related to Infrastructure and Deployment IT architecture models for an enterprise Process of designing basic structure and understanding behavior of the technology infrastructure of an enterprise, solution or software Middleware strategy Application integration architectures (SOA, MDM, Cloud) Oracle and IBM WebSphere Product Suit (WAS 7.0 +, DB2, UDB, MQ, Message Broker (WMB 7.0+), IBM Service Registry and Repository) TFS (and Visual Studio Online) to manage the Application Lifecycle Management Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) lifecycle development and related operations Using various micro services like Docker, TIBCO, IBM, Oracle, Spring Pivotal Using various micro services like Docker, TIBCO, IBM, Oracle, Spring Pivotal Different types of testing, such as functional, performance, security, usability etc. Tools used to record/track defects and measure quality, such as TFS, MTM etc. Automation tools used to perform functional and performance testing Architectural roadmap development and planning based on established frameworks such as TOGAF, ZACHMAN, FEA Strong SOA, EAI & EAI Patterns, BPMS & Togaf 9 concept and implementation experience Tools available for capturing and blueprinting enterprise or solution architecture Concepts of enterprise architecture management (EAM) and enterprise portfolio management (EPM) Integration experience with Legacy / Mainframe Systems Functions of an EA Program, including strategic planning, technology standards, and governance techniques and standards Software Development methodologies such as AGILE, SCRUM., XP, DSDM etc. Educational Qualification and Experience: Minimum of 15 years of formal education - Graduate / Post Graduate in Computer Science / Information Technology Professional work experience of 12 to 18 years in Microsoft technologies
