Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Platform Architect to join our IT organization in Bangalore, India, with a focus on optimizing and enhancing our Power BI platform. This role will collaborate closely with two US-based Power BI Platform Architects and be part of our 14-person Enterprise Business Intelligence team. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for driving best practices to ensure the Power BI platform empowers analysts and developers company-wide.
About You - Experience, Education, Skills, and Accomplishments
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or platform architecture, with at least 3 years specifically working with Power BI.
- Deep technical knowledge of Power BI, including administration, security, compliance, and feature implementation (e.g., Power BI Service, gateways, dataflows, and report development).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with global teams across time zones (US-India coordination experience a plus).
- Familiarity with enterprise IT environments and tools like Azure, SQL, REST APIs, SSMS, or related BI technologies.
- Ability to document processes, host training sessions, and promote best practices.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to platform optimization.
What will you be doing in this role
- Manage and optimize Power BI focused requests to ensure seamless and secure use of the Power BI platform.
- Collaborate side-by-side with analysts and developers across the company to troubleshoot issues, enhance reporting capabilities, and integrate new features.
- Host regular sessions to share best practices, document processes, and train users on Power BI functionality and updates.
- Audit platform usage to ensure compliance with company policies and security standards, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Work closely with two US-based Power BI Platform Architects to align strategies, share insights, and maintain platform consistency.
- Stay updated on Power BI s latest features and capabilities, integrating them into the organization s BI ecosystem as appropriate.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a centralized knowledge base for Power BI usage and governance.
