Job Description
Role Objective
We are seeking a highly skilled OSS Onsite Deployment Engineer for installation, configuration, integration, testing, and validation of OSS solutions at customer sites. This role involves working with virtualized and cloud-native OSS architectures, microservices, networking technologies, and ensuring smooth OSS deployment and troubleshooting in The role requires expertise in OSS/ITSM platforms, OS/Virtualization, middleware, system integration, troubleshooting, and containerized environments The ideal candidate will ensure smooth deployment, minimize issues, and work closely with offshore teams, customer IT, Application and network engineers.
Key Deliverables
OSS Installation, Virtualization & Microservices Deployment
- Deploy OSS/ITSM & Other Application components (Service Assurance, Service Fulfilment, Inventory, Fault & Performance Management, etc.).
- Install and configure Applications in virtualized (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerized (Dockers/Kubernetes, OpenShift) environments.
- Work with microservices-based OSS architectures, ensuring proper deployment of Dockerized OSS applications.
- Deploy and configure middleware, databases, and application servers (WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat).
Networking & System Integration
- Configure API integrations (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) with BSS, NMS, EMS, and thirdparty systems.
- Troubleshoot networking issues (IP routing, VLANs, VPN, firewalls, load balancers).
- Configure network elements, protocols (SNMP, NETCONF, gNMI, SD-WAN, etc.). Cloud & Virtualization Management
- Deploy OSS on KVM, VMware, or private clouds.
- Optimize OSS performance in virtualized, cloud-native, and edge computing environments. Automate deployment using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Helm, CI/CD pipelines).
Testing, Validation & Troubleshooting
- Conduct System Acceptance Testing (SAT), System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and End-to-End validation.
- Diagnose and resolve deployment, performance, and integration issues using Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Verify load balancing, traffic shaping, and QoS metrics for optimal OSS performance. Security & Compliance Management
- Implement security hardening for OSS applications and infrastructure.
- Configure role-based access control (RBAC), SSL/TLS encryption, authentication (OAuth, SAML, LDAP).
Documentation, Configuration Mgmt & Knowledge Transfer
- Maintain deployment playbooks, configuration manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
- Maintain Artefacts for Deployed configuration, Setup and Solution Delivery
- Conduct customer training sessions and knowledge transfers for operational team
Skill - Essential
OSS/NMS, Cloud, & Virtualization
- Hands-on experience with OSS/BSS/ITSM Platforms (Netcracker, Nokia, HPE, Opentext, Microfocus).
- Experience deploying OSS in AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack, VMware.
- Expertise in Kubernetes (K8s)/Docker, OpenShift/Istio, and microservices deployment.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
Networking & System Integration
- Good understanding of IP networking, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and network.
- Working knowledge of telecom protocols (SNMP, CDP/LLDP, Routing Protocols, NETCONF)
Customer Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting Diagnosing and resolving OSS deployment issues efficiently.
- Team Coordination Working with offshore, customer, and vendor teams.
- Time Management & Proactiveness Handling tight schedules and last-minute changes.
- Comfortable working in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong experience in HLD, LLD, system validation, and controlled customization.
- Hands-on expertise with different application platforms
- Knowledge of telecom solutions, OSS/BSS, IT infrastructure management, and network monitoring systems.
- Hands-on expertise with OSS platforms
- Deep understanding of OSS integrations, APIs (REST/SOAP/GraphQL), middleware, and microservices.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native architectures, Docker, Kubernetes. OSS/BSS Expertise Deep knowledge of Service Fulfillment, Service Assurance, Inventory, Fault Management, Performance Management, and Network Management.
- Solution Architecture Experience in designing scalable, maintainable, and high performance OSS solutions (HLD & LLD).
- Cloud & Virtualization Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, Docker, SDN/NFV.
- Performance Optimization Ability to optimize database queries, application performance, and network interactions.
- Proven track record of leading AT, validation ownership, and obtaining customer technical signoff.
Skill - Desirable
- API & integration expertise with REST, SOAP, GraphQL, WebSockets will be an added DVntGE.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
- CI/CD automation using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, Perl for automation and monitoring.
- System Integration & APIs Strong experience with REST, SOAP, GraphQL APIs, middleware, and microservices for OSS-BSS integration.
- Development Lifecycle Management Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git, Bitbucket), and automation.
- Performance tuning for databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL), middleware, and networking.
- Load testing and stress testing using JMeter, Locust, or k6.

Qualifications
(Minimum) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics & Communications/Telecommunications, or related field.

Cloud Certifications AWS/Azure/GCP Certified Solutions Architect.

Kubernetes Certifications CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator), CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer).
or
Linux Certifications RHCSA, RHCE, LFCS. or Networking Certifications CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, SD-WAN certifications.
