About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS & Remote Sensing Expert with a strong background in agricultural GIS applications and remote sensing-based predictive intelligence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in processing and interpreting satellite imagery, calculating vegetation indices (like NDVI, EVI, etc.), and translating spatial intelligence into actionable agricultural insights and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze satellite imagery to extract insights using remote sensing indices such as NDVI, SAVI, EVI, etc.
- Develop and deploy remote sensing-based solutions for crop monitoring, yield forecasting, soil moisture analysis, and pest/disease risk assessment.
- Interpret geospatial and satellite-based data to generate timely and relevant agricultural recommendations.
- Collaborate with agronomists and data scientists to build predictive intelligence models for farming applications.
- Prepare GIS maps, reports, and dashboards for stakeholders to visualize agricultural parameters.
- Ensure spatial data accuracy and maintain updated GIS databases for agricultural plots and regions.
- Plan and execute ground truthing exercises to validate satellite-based intelligence, including coordination with field teams, designing sampling strategies, and integrating field data for model improvement.
- Support in the development and deployment of geospatial models for farm-level decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors/Masters degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 58 years of hands-on experience in agricultural GIS and remote sensing projects.
- Strong expertise in using tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, Google Earth Engine, etc.
- Proficient in remote sensing data interpretation, image classification, and time-series analysis.
- Knowledge of satellite datasets such as Sentinel, Landsat, MODIS, etc.
- Experience working with agriculture-specific models and platforms is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Programming knowledge in Python, R, or JavaScript (for GEE).
- Experience working in AI/ML-based agriculture intelligence platforms.
Familiarity with precision agriculture tools, sensors, and crop modeling

- Educational qualification: - Bachelors/Masters degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or related field.
