Job Summary
The Data Science team delivers the best-in-class actionable business insights through cutting-edge predictive models and data science techniques. The Manager of Data Science is responsible for interfacing with business partners, initiating and managing analytics projects to generate data-driven insights and support data science needs within Bread Financial. Essential Job Functions
- Manages all the facets of the analytical project lifecycle, including data collection and exploration, code development, validation, and deployment. Create data-driven marketing proposals, initiatives, and presentations to improve customer relationships and increase sales. - (15%)
- Translate business partners needs into advanced analytics projects and prioritize projects based on expected tactical and/or strategic business impact as well as available resources to achieve timely project deliveries. - (10%)
- Conduct advanced statistical analysis and research to enhance predictive modeling capability, and to broaden and deepen the impacts on consumer marketing in direct and digital channels. Lead efforts to develop models across customer lifecycle, for example, acquisition, existing customers, retention, etc. - (10%)
- Develop a team of associates and understand and improve existing process to gain efficiency. Understand organizational priorities and dynamics and guide the team efforts and work to align with enterprise strategy and participate in enterprise wide initiatives. Lead, Coach, motivate, challenge and provide managerial guidance to the team. Develop and execute training programs for the team. - (10%)
- Utilizes excellent communication skills to articulate a strategic vision to the team. Provides continuous feedback and completes formal performance evaluations as directed by the organization. Values associate recognition and celebrating the accomplishments of individual team members as well as the overall team. - (5%)
- Lead both direct reports and other associates to accomplish company initiatives. Lead critical business initiatives in partnership with associates across geographies (as required). - (15%)
- Build a strong relationship and provide consultation to both internal business partners and external clients to expand the influence of Data Science on Bread Financial s business. Values strategic communication and the importance of building consensus - (10%)
- Acts as extension of US Data Science team and interacts with key internal stakeholders to drive the correct analysis & recommendations for our brand partners. Design and present solutions to internal and external business partners/leadership. - (5%)
- Lead individuals that are responsible for building and enhancing existing models for our Brand Partners. Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy by analyzing data and drawing conclusions based upon the data. - (10%)
- Extensive hands-on experience in model development and Machine learning algorithms. Expertise in developing and applying Data Science/ML models and algorithms in retail, banking, or/and fintech domain. Work across the customer lifecycle to develop objective functions that optimize the response rate, sales, acquisition, based on business requirements. - (10%)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Business, or similar.
- 10+ years years of work experience developing machine learning models to deliver insights and solve business problems within a bank, credit card, retail, or insurance business. Some people and/or project management experience. Supervisory experience.
- Experienced in end-to-end project delivery including, model deployment, strategy building, financial impact/scenario analysis (including Operational Savings, Cost Avoidance, Topline growth, Bottom line Growth, ROI, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master s Degree ,MBA, or equivalent experience in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or other quantitative fields.
- Business acumen through demonstrated knowledge of credit card operations, banking, financial, loyalty rewards, retail, and credit card industry.
- Proven expertise in leveraging a variety of data sources including first party and third party data, digital metrics, structured/unstructured data.
- Additional exposure to upcoming and cutting-edge fintech/payment solutions is desirable.
