Job Description
Summary/Objective:
The Communication Specialist is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that enhance the company's brand reputation, engage target audiences, and drive business growth. This role requires a strong understanding of public relations, marketing communication, and content creation.
Essential Functions:
Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement communication plans and strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Conduct research and analysis to understand target audiences and communication trends.
- Identify key messages and communication channels to reach target audiences effectively.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand communication needs and objectives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of communication initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain a communication calendar to ensure timely and coordinated messaging.
Content Creation & Management:
- Write, edit, and proofread a variety of communication materials, including:
- Press releases
- Website content
- Blog posts
- Social media updates
- Email newsletters
- Internal announcements
- Presentations
- Marketing collateral (brochures, flyers, etc.)
- Reports
- Ensure all communication materials are consistent with brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Manage and update website content using content management systems (CMS).
- Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms.
- Develop and maintain a library of communication assets.

Social Media Management:
- Develop and execute social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
- Create and schedule social media posts.
- Monitor social media channels for comments, mentions, and trends.
- Respond to inquiries and comments on social media.
- Analyze social media performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest social media trends and best practices.
Competencies:
- Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Writing & Editing: Proven ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content for a variety of audiences and channels. Strong editing and proofreading skills.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement communication strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve communication challenges.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), social media platforms, and email marketing software.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity: Ability to generate new and innovative ideas.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- IT technology software interest experience preferred
