Deputy General Manager Projects - O&G Pipelines

 

Job Summary:

Responsible for controlling multiple project sites of Oil & Gas Pipeline projects and for successful

execution of projects from start till commissioning. Responsible for cost control, P&L of projects

under his/her domain while maintaining timelines, quality, & HSE standards.

Responsibilities:

Executing the project construction activities, in line with the project specifications, scope of

work, schedule, and client requirements. Leads a team of Project Managers and manage the

project sites.

Monitor and review project progress and ensure project completion in time and within

budgeted cost.

Prepares the construction schedule in conjunction with Project Managers/ Planning

Engineers with details on specific activities and respective dates of completion.

Ensures continuous construction work fronts availability through preparation and review of

look ahead schedules with Project Managers, engineering deliverables and material delivery

schedules

Allocate and optimize resources among the projects under his/her control.

Supervise project activities from strategic perspective.

Constantly identify bottlenecks for progress on construction and proactively take action to

resolve the same.

Chairs daily, weekly & monthly internal meetings and ensures action points are liquidated in

a timely manner.

Continuously assess, with the QC & HSE managers, the status of Construction Quality & HSE,

and ensures timely closures of corrective actions & non conformance.

Handle crucial project issues escalated by the Project manager

Focus on stakeholder management and devise business strategy for cost control and profit

improvement.

Coordinate and liaison with client/Sub-Contractor and certifying and regulatory authorities

in order to ensure that the project is in compliance with all requirements.

Handle various business development activities like study of upcoming projects, tracking of

competitor information, promotion of KEC business, visiting potential clients, making

strategic alliances etc

Apprise HO in various strategic issues in the region

Decide on the margin to be quoted for projects based on regional dynamics

Interact seamlessly with clients, international authorities, and local authorities, and utilities,

suppliers to get new and repeated orders.

Plan and forecast project budget and human resource requirements for all projects

Implement engineering systems and controls in compliance with Health && Safety regulations

Promote and monitor various HR initiatives at project sites
