Job Description
SUMMARY
The Expeditors Cybersecurity Team provides industry-leading services to our customers by protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data and our customers electronic data. We mitigate corporate risk through analysis of threat, potential threat actors and actions and a risk-based methodology based on deep understanding of our own infrastructure and potential impacts from cyber events. Strategically, cybersecurity activities both improve our security posture and reduce long-term resource requirements.
The Cybersecurity team is highly collaborative and communicative within our team, within the IS department, and within the company as a whole. Excellent customer service is always top priority. Expeditors recognizes how critical cybersecurity is to the delivery of our mission, and our interactions with customers and our own team reflects the contribution we make. The Developer in Test position will be a key team member of a development team that is responsible for core identity management and authentication systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in testing activities for the applications and systems that Cybersecurity is responsible for
- Perform both manual and automated testing for applications
- Supports product development by ensuring testability
- Actively develop new automated testing methodologies and enhance existing ones
- As a member of an Agile team, participate in timely review and execution of work to meet committed timelines
- Communicate effectively with other team members regarding issues discovered
- Identify security vulnerabilities as part of the testing process and communicate as needed
- Interprets risks, test plans, and test results with stakeholders
- Champions technical and process improvements
- As needed, participate in other quality assurance or testing to support Cybersecurity needs
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of experience in testing of applications and systems
- Prior experience in quality assurance or developer-in-test roles (automation)
- Strong functional testing background, including defining test strategy, test planning, test case design, and execution
- Proficient in programming in at least one language
- Proficient in scripting in at least one language
- Experience in coordinating complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software
- Aiding system users relative to information systems security matters
- Strong understanding of Cybersecurity matters including as they relate to software development practices
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Prior experience with SailPoint or other 3rd party software platforms
- Prior experience with testing Java applications
- Solid understanding of hardware, operating systems, and networking technologies
- Experience in understanding and interpreting Software Development Lifecycles and Secure Development Lifecycles
- Working knowledge of access management systems and authentication and authorization strategies
