Job Description

The Program Manager, tech in the team will wear multiple hats, including but not limited to driving a cohesive vision to Test Automation Charter @ Uber! You will be ensuring that the team executes against that roadmap with high velocity.

What the Candidate Will Do
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop the most optimal Mobile/UI Test automation strategy across the products.
  • Lead & make recommendations to improve product test coverage.
  • Lead & resolve potential test gaps and regression issues.
  • Guide the implementation of fully automated CI/CD pipelines to execute the test suites
  • This role is highly cross-functional, and this Program Manager-Tech will be equally adept at whiteboarding solution design, evaluation of UI/Web Automation framework, track and deliver OKRs, validate test results with Automation Engineers, Reliability Engineers, and Dev Infra Team and ensuring that the automated Test Case coverage across products is met.
  • Project manage cross-functional initiatives working with Uber engineering teams to estimate efforts, define landmarks, and drive the schedule of automating the TCs along with the vendor engineering team.
  • Track progress, resolve dependencies, evaluate risks and communicate status to upper management and project partners. Engage and energize the project teams to achieve aggressive goals.
  • Track issues and proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress. Identify communication gaps, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities. Get results proactively.
  • Implement continuous improvements to the engineering organization and the program management process. Share program/project process frameworks, tools, and standard methodologies that can be adopted throughout the organization. Improve product development and delivery. Mentor project management skills within our engineering leadership team.
  • Resource Management and Prioritization.. Work with the project team to define the projects cross-functional technical and non-technical resources. Monitor allocation and capacity. Prioritize work both internal and external to the project.

  • Task Master. Continuous tracking and follow-up on the different efforts and tasks
Basic Qualifications 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in program management or product management
  • Minimum 2 years of people management experience
  • Experience in solving problems, both structured and ambiguous, at scale with strong attention to detail in fast-changing business environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to influence and motivate people (with both technical and non-technical individuals) across a broad variety of job functions through your relationships
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive customer and product-focused decisions
  • Self-motivated with a strong affinity for vision setting, strategic problem solving and driving action
  • Experience with process design and optimization, program management, customer support strategies, and quality assurance
  • Ability to understand Tech and tech frameworks and able to question on the effectiveness of the proposed solution
  • Ability to plan and execute in an organized manner
