Job Description
Job Purpose:
The professional will be responsible for structural engineering deliverables from structural consultants- DBR, 3D Analysis Models, calculations, detailing and GFCs. Role also involves assistance in finalization of structural costs i.e., structural material consumptions for projects with engineering specs assistance in preparation of BOQs. Experience in assisting value engineering options and any comparative studies impacting project cost & construction time is must. Cross functional coordination is essential.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Prepare the Request for Proposal (RFP) to appoint structural consultants and evaluating their capabilities scopes etc. and assisting in onboarding of the same with clear scope.
2. Review of Structural design of the various elements on projects as required, undertaking detailed engineering design of a wide variety of buildings in India and further afield.
3. Representing as structural engineering design expert at meetings with the architects, MEP engineers, interior designers, and all relevant stake holders internal as well as external.
4. Structural cost of the project needs to be monitored and optimized at each and every stage of project i.e., from pre Concept to GFCs.
5. Delivering excellent project work within agreed deadlines and within budget to ensure business goals of the organization.
6. Structural engineering detailed review (internal peer reviews) for achieving due diligence as well cost parameters.
7. Coordination with Geotechnical consultants, Wind engineering consultants as per project requirements.
8. Keeping senior staff informed of important and relevant design decisions to make sure that the objectives of the company are achieved.
9. Periodic Site visits on project site as and when required to ensure structural design intents as per GFC drawings.
10. Provide on the ground support to the project heads in relation to structural issues as required
11. Design Change Management : Design/methodology change need to be absorbed with least possible cost impacts and time impacts.
12. Review of the foundation options, shoring schemes, site related issues and handling the same with help of consultants.
13. Cross functional team coordination for resolving various points with Strategy, Costing, Projects, Marketing, Contracting, Procurement etc.
Good to have :
- 8 to 12 years of total experience out of which min 5 years in structural consultancy services is must.
- Hands on experience in ETABS, SAFE, STAAD RCDC, AutoCAD, etc. (structural engineering software)
- Knowledge of value engineering in design of structures at various design stages.
- Proficiency in MS Excel .
- Experience in Highrise structures is important.
- Proficient in effective use of NBC, design codes Indian (like 456, 1893, 875, 13920, 16700, 800) as well as international wherever applicable .
