- Role Description Job Title: QA Automation Engineer (Java & Selenium) Hiring Location: Pune, India Must Have Skills Java & Selenium: 7+ years of hands-on experience in Java and Selenium for automation testing. Automation Framework Development: Experience in developing automated test frameworks and writing test cases for various types of testing (UI, web service API, functional/performance/load). Selenium & Cucumber: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Selenium and Cucumber for test automation. API Testing: Strong hands-on experience in API testing using tools like Rest Assured, HTTPClient, and Karate. TestNG: Proficient in using TestNG for creating and running test scripts. Database Testing: Expertise in testing SQL and NoSQL databases, with strong knowledge of writing SQL queries and working with databases like Oracle, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL. Cloud Architecture Testing: Prior experience testing cloud architectures involving multi-tenancy, microservices, and RESTful APIs. CI/CD: Experience working with Jenkins for CI/CD processes. JIRA: Experience with JIRA for defect tracking and test management. Manual Testing: Solid experience in manual testing alongside automation for comprehensive test coverage. Good To Have Skills Object-Oriented Testing: Experience in testing object-oriented and service-oriented designs with multi-threaded services/applications. Selenium WebDriver: Expertise in using Selenium WebDriver (Java) for browser automation. Version Control: Familiarity with GIT for version control. File Transfer Tools: Experience with tools like Putty and WinScp for file management. Browsers: Experience testing on multiple browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Cloud Services: Experience with testing cloud-native applications and architectures. Test Process & QA Methodologies: Expertise in QA methodologies, test processes, and best practices in software quality assurance. Experience Range Years of Experience: 7+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on automation testing (Java, Selenium, Cucumber). Relevant Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in manual testing, automation testing, and test strategy development. Technical Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience in Java, Selenium, API Testing, and database testing (SQL/NoSQL). Automation Tools: Proficient with TestNG, Rest Assured, Selenium WebDriver, and other automation tools. Responsibilities Testing Needs Identification: Work closely with the scrum team to identify testing needs and opportunities for automation. Test Strategy Development: Collaborate with the QA team to define a comprehensive testing strategy, determining the right mix of manual and automated tests. Automated Test Case Development: Develop and execute automated test scripts using tools like Selenium and Cucumber, covering UI, API, performance, and load testing. Manual Testing: Execute and report on the full testing suite of manual and automated tests to ensure application quality. Technical Reviews: Conduct technical reviews with other developers, technologists, and engineers to ensure alignment on testing practices and goals. Issue Reporting: Report any defects or issues to client stakeholders and UST leadership, ensuring transparency and timely resolution. Collaboration: Work with team members to ensure proper communication and coordination throughout the testing lifecycle. Requirements Education: BS degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field with coding experience. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Test Process Expertise: Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test processes, and best practices in software quality assurance. Defect Tracking & Tools: Hands-on experience with JIRA for defect tracking and reporting. Cross-Browser Testing: Experience with cross-browser testing on Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Database Tools: Knowledge of Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Developer, and other database query tools.
