Job Description

Iris Elements is a cloud based suite of accountancy tools, relying heavily on the Development Operations engineers, to ensure the platforms needed are in place and operational, to deliver Elements as a service to clients. The variety of applications in the Elements suite (and being accessed from the Elements suite) means this is achieved using numerous technologies and solutions, but importantly all have common requirements.

The three primary roles of the DevOps teams are :

• Work with the other Engineering departments in automating the release of code to environments.
• Ensure that code has a stable platform to be delivered into.
• Enable key attributes of monitoring, security, audit and resilience on the platforms.

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to work in our Elements team, with rounded DevOps skills to report to the DevOps Manager in the UK, supporting the current objectives of maintaining secure platforms, providing audit and compliance structure and accelerating release times and frequencies of multiple products.

Across the group, the essential technologies used are

• Azure, AWS
• Terraform, AWS and ARM for platform automation (IAC),
• TeamCity, Octopus Deploy and Azure DevOps for CI/CD,
• DataDog for monitoring
• Confluence & Jira for documentation and ticket management.

Preferred candidate profile

• Have experience of maintaining continuous integration and continuous deployment systems. Examples: Bamboo, TeamCity, Azure DevOps, Octopus.
• System administration experience on Container, Windows Server or Linux operating systems.
• Experience in building cloud platforms, particularly using AWS, Azure, VMWare or OpenStack.
• Build and configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, Ansible, etc.
• Working in an Internet software delivery environment (e.g. SaaS, eCommerce, managed services).
