Job Description

Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all imports and exports comply with relevant customs regulations, international trade laws, and company policies.
- Work with customs brokers to clear goods and ensure timely delivery.
- Stay updated on changes in trade regulations and tariffs.

Logistics Management:
- Plan and manage international shipment schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Select appropriate shipping methods (air, sea, or land) based on cost, efficiency, and timing.
- Negotiate with freight forwarders and carriers for favorable shipping rates and services.
- Oversee the preparation of shipping documentation such as bills of lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices.

Vendor and Supplier Coordination:
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring adherence to delivery timelines and quality standards.
- Negotiate terms with vendors, suppliers, and other trade partners.
- Coordinate with domestic and international suppliers to ensure smooth operations.

Inventory and Cost Management:
- Oversee and track the movement of goods, ensuring accurate inventory management.
- Monitor and control import and export costs, including transportation, duties, and tariffs.
- Manage budgets and seek opportunities to reduce shipping costs without compromising quality or delivery times.

Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and implement strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Ensure proper insurance coverage for goods in transit.
- Address any issues with damaged or delayed shipments.

Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics, warehouse, and shipping staff.
- Provide training on customs procedures, international shipping processes, and compliance requirements.

Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Work closely with sales, procurement, production, and finance teams to align supply chain strategies with business goals.
- Coordinate with legal teams to resolve any issues related to trade agreements or compliance.

Reporting and Analysis:
- Monitor performance metrics such as delivery times, shipping costs, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare reports for management on import/export activities, costs, and efficiency improvements.
- Use data to forecast future shipping needs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
