Job Description

    key Responsibilities:

    1. Regulatory Compliance:

      • Ensure that all imports and exports comply with relevant customs regulations, international trade laws, and company policies.
      • Work with customs brokers to clear goods and ensure timely delivery.
      • Stay updated on changes in trade regulations and tariffs.
    2. Logistics Management:

      • Plan and manage international shipment schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods.
      • Select appropriate shipping methods (air, sea, or land) based on cost, efficiency, and timing.
      • Negotiate with freight forwarders and carriers for favorable shipping rates and services.
      • Oversee the preparation of shipping documentation such as bills of lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices.
    3. Vendor and Supplier Coordination:

      • Maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring adherence to delivery timelines and quality standards.
      • Negotiate terms with vendors, suppliers, and other trade partners.
      • Coordinate with domestic and international suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
    4. Inventory and Cost Management:

      • Oversee and track the movement of goods, ensuring accurate inventory management.
      • Monitor and control import and export costs, including transportation, duties, and tariffs.
      • Manage budgets and seek opportunities to reduce shipping costs without compromising quality or delivery times.
    5. Risk Management:

      • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and implement strategies to mitigate those risks.
      • Ensure proper insurance coverage for goods in transit.
      • Address any issues with damaged or delayed shipments.
    6. Team Leadership and Development:

      • Lead and mentor a team of logistics, warehouse, and shipping staff.
      • Provide training on customs procedures, international shipping processes, and compliance requirements.
    7. Collaboration with Other Departments:

      • Work closely with sales, procurement, production, and finance teams to align supply chain strategies with business goals.
      • Coordinate with legal teams to resolve any issues related to trade agreements or compliance.
    8. Reporting and Analysis:

      • Monitor performance metrics such as delivery times, shipping costs, and customer satisfaction.
      • Prepare reports for management on import/export activities, costs, and efficiency improvements.
      • Use data to forecast future shipping needs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
