- Cloud Operations Lead Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Operations Leader with a proven track record in IT systems management, cloud operations, and production support. This role requires a hands-on professional with at least 12 years of overall IT experience, 6+ years in cloud environments, and a minimum of 3 years in production operations. The successful candidate will manage a dynamic team, ensure the availability and reliability of cloud services, and drive operational excellence across production environments. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of cloud operations and production support engineers. Oversee daily cloud operations and ensure smooth functioning of cloud infrastructure. Develop and execute strategies to optimize performance, enhance security, and maintain cost efficiency. Drive operational process improvements to ensure scalability and high availability of systems. Cloud Operations: Manage and monitor cloud environments (AWS) for performance, availability, and security. Ensure proper cloud infrastructure management (containers, microservices, Kubernetes, etc.). Ensure compliance with cloud security policies and industry regulations. Drive continuous improvement. Production Operations & Support: Oversee incident management, root cause analysis, and service restoration in production environments. Ensure timely resolution of critical production issues while minimizing downtime. Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and reporting tools for production systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, security, and product teams) to maintain SLAs and improve system reliability. Stakeholder Management: Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders regarding cloud performance and operational metrics. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers. Provide regular reports and updates on operational performance and cloud cost management to executive leadership. Required Qualifications: Experience: 12+ years of IT experience, with at least 6 years in cloud operations (AWS). Minimum of 3 years experience in production operations and support of globally distributed Cloud Infrastructure. Proven experience leading and managing technical teams in a production environment. Experience working in a SRE unit to improve reliability of production systems. Must have experience with maintaining regulatory and compliance standards. Technical Skills: Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). In-depth hands-on experience with core AWS services VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, EKS, etc. In-depth knowledge of production support and incident management processes. Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform). Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, etc.) and log management (ELK, Grafana). Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex, time-sensitive issues. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar. Experience working in regulated industries or with high-availability systems.
