Job Description
- Duties 1. Facilitates consistent compliance with all regulatory standards 2. Under the direct supervision of the Director, Cardiac Cath Lab, the Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab is responsible for the provision of safe and effective care of the patient having invasive or non-invasive special procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab to include the immediate pre-procedure period, during the procedure, and immediately following the procedure 3. Must be able to recognize, report and document abnormal and/or critical screening values 4. Responsible/accountable for management of the patient and provision of care utilizing the nursing process, environment, instrumentation, and other health care team members 5. Provides quality patient care in accordance with CPRMC policies and procedures and established patient care standards and practice 6. Performing assessments, developing a plan of care, implementing and evaluating the care 7. Administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice 8. Directing, monitoring and evaluating the care delegated to non-licensed personnel 9. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, the RN works collaboratively with the other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care 10. In addition, the RN performs a range of technical services in a cross-functional mode to comprehensively serve patient needs 11. Will identify and communicate any change in the patient's status 12. Must hold a current certificate in C.P.R 13. Must hold a current certificate in A.C.L.S 14. Assesses complement of staff and the level of clinical expertise needed to provide excellence in patient care 15. Manages patient care in the health care continuum to achieve optimum outcomes in a safe and cost-effective manner 16. Demonstrates skills in collaboration, delegation, negotiation and management of resources 17. Heart & Vascular - Participates as a technical support team member during procedures 18. Heart & Vascular - Provides guidance and teaching for patients and significant others 19. The Clinical Supervisor (CS) is a responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager or Director in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit 20. Circulating and scrub techniques 21. Quality assurance data collection 22. Digital image processing 23. Intra-aortic balloon setup and maintenance 24. Ensuring the delivery of quality nursing care and lab management around-the-clock 25. Fostering a dynamic work environment that promotes interdisciplinary teamwork and provides quality care 26. Serving as a role model and clinical practice resource for the Cardiac Lab nursing staff 27. Create an open and safe environment for patient care 28.
