Job Description

The Security Engineer is responsible for running automated vulnerability scans on Cepheid s products (including operating systems, off-the-shelf software, custom developed) on a regular basis and ensuring vulnerabilities are effectively identified and communicated to product owners, as well as reporting on remediation progress.

This position is part of the engineering department of Cepheid and will be located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet and Cepheid.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

• Conduct automated vulnerability scans on Cepheid s products including operating systems, Off-the-Shelf software and custom developed code by Cepheid.
• Review the vulnerability scan reports and eliminate false positives.
• Collaborate with product teams to prioritize and manage vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for remediation.
• Assess the risk of identified vulnerabilities and prioritize the remediation efforts.
• Provide technical support in troubleshooting issues with scanning tools.

• Take part in the patch management process and regularly identify and monitor the critical security vulnerabilities from different sources.
• Assist the development teams in vulnerability remediation process.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Engineering degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in vulnerability management/scanning or any other security domain
• Good understanding of different operating systems
• Experience with vulnerability scanning and testing tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, etc.)
• Experience with static code analysis tools (Veracode, fortify, Black Duck)
• Knowledge of security vulnerabilities and analyzing the risk score (e.g. CVE database, CVSS scoring)
• Serve as a technical team member of product cyber security team
• Security certifications (like CEH,OSCP)
