- Job Description: Ward Nurse Position Title: Ward Nurse Department: Nursing Key Responsibilities: A Ward Nurse provides direct patient care in a hospital ward, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the comfort, safety, and recovery of patients. This role involves managing patient care plans, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and supporting patients and their families through treatment and recovery. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Provide compassionate and individualized care to patients in the ward. Monitor and assess patients" health status, including vital signs and physical conditions. Administer prescribed medications, injections, and treatments as per the doctor's orders. Assist in medical procedures and tests under the supervision of senior nurses or doctors. Record patient information accurately in medical charts. Report any changes in patient conditions to the appropriate medical team. Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and privacy while providing care. Shift Work & Supervision: Work within a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the ward's requirements. Supervise junior nursing staff and assist in their training and development. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times. Ward Management: Ensure cleanliness and safety in patient rooms and ward areas. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including care notes and medication logs. Monitor inventory of medical supplies and request replenishment when necessary. Adhere to infection control and health and safety protocols.
