Job Description
- Menu Development: Plan, create, and modify menus based on seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and restaurant concepts.
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste.
- Kitchen Management: Supervise kitchen staff to ensure proper food preparation and presentation. Manage kitchen stations, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Staff Supervision: Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers. Assign duties and set performance expectations.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes meet the restaurants standards of taste, appearance, and quality before they are served to customers.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage food inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimize food waste.
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation in the kitchen according to health regulations.
- Cost Management: Assist with managing food and labor costs while maintaining the quality of dishes. Track and control kitchen expenses.
- Customer Interaction: Occasionally engage with customers to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction with meals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with restaurant managers, front-of-house staff, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Special Events & Catering: Plan and execute food for special events, catering, or banquets as needed.
