Job Description

    The Head of Cell Simulation and Analytics will ensure that the company delivers high-quality, warrantied Li ion cells by employing advanced simulation tools to predict and verify performance under diverse operating conditions for automotive and energy storage products. This role act as a bridge among R&D, production and customer assurance, contributing to both technical innovation and business confidence. Roles and Responsibility This is an opportunity to work in EESLs Cell R&D, and lead the highly technical simulation team which is responsible for generating high fidelity simulation models to guide the Li ion battery design benchmarking, data analysis, performance evaluation, safety and warranty of the battery cells and pack. Accuracy of predictive models in real-world applications Performance Modeling lead team to provide accurate predictions for cylindrical and prismatic cell formats Warranty Assurance support warranty decisions through validated simulation data, reducing financial risks and building trust Thermal and Structural Safety- Ensures cells meet stringent safety requirements by simulating extreme operating scenarios CFD, flow and thermal analysis of component and systems. Use of Fluent, starccm+ etc Drive Innovation Enable the development of advanced cell designs and manufacturing processes, ensuring competitive advantages Reduction in product development cycle time through simulation insights Successful integration of simulation tools into manufacturing high quality cells Possess a PhD or MTech degree in Material Science or Electrical & Electronics or mechanical Engg, Automation, or a closely related field. Technical expertise: Strong background in Lithium ion electrochemistry, thermodynamics and kinetics Deep understanding of lithium ion cell performance metrics, structural dynamics, electrical properties, and thermal behaviors. Strong understanding of battery cell and battery pack integration and thermal management system Expertise in finite element analysis (FEA) for structural and thermal simulations High proficiency in simulation tools such as COMSOL, GT SUITE & Autolion, Abaqus, ANSYS or equivalent for mutliphysics modeling and analysis. Expertise in cell degradation and aging mechnisms for predictive life modeling. Perform cell/Pack level analysis and other analytical techniques to analyse mechanisms of energy (SOH) and power (SOP) degradation in lithium-ion cells. Interpretation of cell/pack test-data and compute degradation modes of various battery chemistries and propose countermeasures to hinder the cell degradation Experience with integrating AI/ML for predictive analytics in simulation models Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, or other analytics platforms for data processing and visualization. Leadership: Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary technical teams. Ability to translate technical insights into actionable strategies for production and warranty processes Compliance and Standards: Familiarity with global battery safety standard (eg. UL 1642, IEC 62133) and warranty benchmarks Uncompromising attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality. Desired Skills Innovative mindset and contribution to IP resulting from analytics driven insights. Create reports and maintain database to meet the legal requirements Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams Strong project management skills and resource planning capabilities Excellent communication and presentation skills Knowledge of emerging battery technologies, including dry-coatings, sodium-ion and solid state chemistries. Familiarity with gigafactory production scaling, analytics, and automation integration. Note: 1.
