Job Title : Linux Kernel and Device Drivers Expert Experience Range : 7+ Years of Hands-On Experience Location : Bangalore / Hyderabad (Hybrid - 3 Days in Office Per Week) Role And Responsibilities Responsible for the development and delivery of Linux Kernel and Platform Software, BSPs, Drivers (Yocto, Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOS), hypervisors, Boot Loaders, and Diagnostics. Drive key Linux domains, including Networking, GPU/Graphics, Multimedia. Provide technical leadership, defining, developing, and delivering software packages to customers. Guide developers in planning, design, execution, and debugging on a daily basis. Collaborate with senior architects to translate requirements into design and drive implementation within the team. Estimate, plan, prioritize, and manage multiple activities, contributing to project planning and tracking. Ensure activities are completed within the committed timeline and meet acceptable quality standards. Act as the customer interface for project updates and proactively highlight risks with mitigation plans. Coordinate with cross-functional teams from RTL, FPGA, and Hardware domains to resolve inter-dependencies for smooth software execution. Participate in staffing and resource planning, including conducting technical interviews for team expansion. Work with the latest Linux-based technologies: hypervisors, virtualization, etc. Experience And Skills Prior experience leading teams for Linux or Board Support Package (BSP) delivery for ARM Cortex or Intel x86-based SoC architectures and evaluation boards. Expertise in ARM Cortex architecture or Intel x86 architecture-based SoCs with hands-on experience in Uboot-based bootloader, Linux kernel, and device driver development & integration. Proven experience in leading mid-sized teams of 10-15 members for complex projects. Experience working with bootloaders, kernel development, device driver integration, validation & verification, and Linux OS bring-up. Prior experience developing complex device drivers like PCIe Gen 4/5, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, Ethernet, SD, eMMC is a plus. Strong debugging skills in kernel and device drivers using gcc and gdb toolchain.
