Job Title: Optical Engineer Location: Hyderabad, India Company: Phoqtek Labs Private Limited Contact: hidden_email | +91 hidden_mobile | www.phoqtek.ai Role Overview We are seeking an Optical Engineer with expertise in optical simulations, photonic design, and computational modeling. The ideal candidate should have experience with industry-standard software tools for electromagnetic, waveguide, and photonic device simulations. Key Responsibilities Perform optical simulations and modeling using software such as Ansys Lumerical, COMSOL Multiphysics, Zemax, RSoft, or similar. Design and optimize optical waveguides, fiber optics, and integrated photonic structures. Analyze and model light propagation, beam shaping, and optical interactions. Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulations for photonics applications. Develop computational models for optical materials, coatings, and thin-film structures. Work on multiphysics simulations, including thermo-optic and electro-optic effects. Optimize photonic and optical systems through parametric and inverse design methodologies. Required Qualifications Masters/PhD in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Applied Physics, or related field. Strong experience in optical and electromagnetic simulation software. Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, MATLAB, or C++ for simulation workflows. Solid understanding of wave optics, nonlinear optics, and photonic device physics. Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for opto-mechanical design is a plus. Preferred Skills Experience with deep learning-based optimization for optical designs. Knowledge of inverse design techniques using machine learning for photonics. Familiarity with material modeling for nanophotonic and metamaterial structures. Understanding of quantum optics and photonic integration techniques.
