Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer or Technical Lead with extensive experience in SAP Custom Bonded Warehouse implementations. This role will be instrumental in the design, development, and deployment of bonded warehouse solutions integrated with SAP systems. The successful candidate will lead technical efforts, ensuring that business processes align with SAP functionality to meet regulatory requirements, optimize duty deferral and reclamation, and improve overall cash flow and generate savings for the company. Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end implementation of SAP Custom Bonded Warehouse solutions, ensuring compliance with local customs regulations and business requirements, including duty deferral, reclaiming duties, and driving cash flow improvements for the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, supply chain experts, and SAP functional consultants, to define requirements and ensure seamless integration of bonded warehouse functionalities. Ensure the implementation of the bonded warehouse delivers measurable savings on duties, enhances operational efficiency, and meets the companys financial objectives. Design and configure SAP modules related to bonded warehouses such as SAP Warehouse Management (WM), SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), SAP Global Trade Services (GTS), and integrate with middleware systems such as Atlas. Develop and oversee the customization of SAP solutions for bonded warehouses, including custom objects, enhancements, and user exits to meet business needs. Ensure regulatory compliance for bonded warehouse processes, including duty deferral, import/export customs processes, and tax reporting. Lead the team in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex technical and functional issues related to SAP implementations. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development and implementation teams, ensuring best practices in SAP ABAP development, workflow automation, and integration technologies. Perform and oversee system integration testing, UAT, and go-live support for warehouse management and customs solutions. Continuously monitor and improve bonded warehouse processes post-implementation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields. 8+ years of experience in SAP system implementation with a strong focus on warehouse management and customs processes. Proven experience in SAP Custom Bonded Warehouse implementation, particularly integrating SAP WM/EWM and SAP GTS modules. Strong understanding of customs regulations, duty-free warehousing, import/export processes, and related tax regulations in global markets. Experience with SAP ERP, SAP EWM, and integration with middleware solutions, particularly Atlas. Extensive experience in SAP ABAP development, including interfaces, reports, user exits, and enhancements. Proficiency in IDoc processing, ALE, and EDI for integration with customs authorities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into SAP solutions. SAP Certifications in WM, EWM, GTS, or other relevant areas are highly desirable. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with S/4HANA transformations and upgrades. Knowledge of supply chain processes related to bonded warehouse operations. Prior experience with Agile methodologies in SAP project delivery. Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and managing warehouse operations across multiple geographies. Additional Technical Skills: SAP Transportation Management (TM) for seamless transportation and logistics integration in bonded warehouse environments. Experience with SAP Advanced Compliance Reporting (ACR) to ensure compliance with tax authorities and automate customs documentation. SAP S/4HANA Logistics and Supply Chain Management, especially Advanced Warehouse Management (AWM) for complex warehouse operations. Integration of IoT technologies (SAP Leonardo IoT) for real-time inventory tracking within the bonded warehouse. Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for extending warehouse management functionality. SAP Fiori and UI5 for developing user-friendly and mobile-responsive applications for warehouse operators and customs staff. SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for advanced reporting and real-time insights into bonded warehouse operations and compliance. Strong knowledge of EDI and e-Invoicing solutions for automating customs documentation and tax reporting. Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to automate repetitive tasks in bonded warehouse processes. Understanding of database management and SQL (SAP HANA) for optimized data handling and reporting. Mobile technology integration (barcode scanners, RFID) for real-time inventory management. Knowledge of SAP Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) for managing compliance and safety protocols for materials in bonded warehouses. SAP GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) for ensuring regulatory adherence and audit readiness. Performance optimization of SAP EWM/WM solutions for large-scale warehouse operations. Familiarity with SAP Business Workflow and Process Orchestration for automating bonded warehouse processes. Exposure to blockchain technology in supply chain to improve transparency and traceability of bonded goods. Experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems for SAP custom development management. Experience with data migration tools such as SAP Data Migration Cockpit or LSMW.
