- Position: Firmware Tester Experience: Minimum 1.5 years (excluding internships) Education: B.Tech in Electronics and Communication (ECE) Location: Mohali Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Firmware Tester with a strong background in Embedded Systems and Firmware Testing to join our team. The ideal candidate should have at least 1.5 years of hands-on experience in testing embedded firmware, debugging hardware-software interactions, and ensuring the reliability of embedded products. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for firmware validation. Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing for embedded firmware. Utilize debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers to troubleshoot firmware-related issues. Work closely with firmware developers, hardware engineers, and quality teams to ensure high-quality firmware releases. Conduct automated and manual testing to validate firmware functionality. Analyze and document test results, report bugs, and verify fixes. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for firmware validation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize testing processes and improve firmware quality. Required Skills & Qualifications: Educational Qualification: B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or related field. Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of experience in firmware testing (excluding internships). Strong knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and firmware development. Hands-on experience with testing tools such as JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc. Understanding of communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Modbus, etc.). Familiarity with firmware programming languages (C, C++, Python for automation). Experience in test automation for embedded systems is a plus. Proficiency in bug tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.) and version control systems (Git). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have): Experience in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing. Exposure to real-time operating systems (RTOS). Knowledge of IoT devices and wireless communication protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, LoRa, etc.). Experience in test automation frameworks for embedded systems.
