Job Description
- 1. Production Management Oversee the end-to-end manufacturing process of wheel axles, ensuring high-quality production. Plan, schedule, and execute forging, stamping, machining, and heat treatment processes. Ensure optimum utilization of press machines, CNCs, forging hammers, and fabrication units. Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen for continuous improvement in production efficiency. 2. Process Optimization & Quality Control Monitor forging, machining, and finishing operations, ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and TS 16949). Work with the tool room and maintenance teams for die corrections, tool maintenance, and breakdown prevention. Implement SPC (Statistical Process Control) and FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) for defect reduction. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for process failures and implement corrective actions. 3. Machine Operations & Technical Supervision Operate and troubleshoot hydraulic/mechanical presses, CNC lathes, forging hammers, robotic welding, and surface finishing machines. Optimize die design, tooling maintenance, and metal flow in axle production. Supervise heat treatment processes (induction hardening, case hardening) to improve axle durability. 4. Team Leadership & Coordination Lead a team of operators, supervisors, and junior engineers to meet daily production targets. Conduct on-the-job training for shop-floor workers to enhance skill levels and process understanding. Ensure workplace safety, PPE compliance, and adherence to automotive shop-floor protocols. 5. Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction Drive cost-saving initiatives by optimizing cycle time, reducing scrap rates, and improving process flow. Implement automation and robotic solutions in axle manufacturing to enhance efficiency. Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and suggest improvements to reduce downtime and increase throughput.
