Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Kotlin Developer with expertise in native Android development to contribute to the development of high-fidelity, real-time mobile applications designed as Software as a Medical Device (SaMD). This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing next-generation Android solutions that support patients, healthcare providers, and medical researchers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring robust performance, data security, and user-centric design while adhering to regulatory standards and best practices in MedTech development. This position requires a deep understanding of Android architecture, Kotlin, and scalable application development, with a focus on delivering secure and efficient healthcare solutions. Key Responsibilities: Architect & Develop MedTech Applications: Build and maintain high-performance, scalable Android applications using Kotlin, ensuring the highest standards of security and reliability. Software as a Medical Device (SaMD): Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement medical-grade software solutions that comply with industry regulations and enhance patient care. Real-Time & High-Fidelity Features: Implement advanced real-time capabilities like WebSockets, MQTT, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for seamless data exchange and interactive user experiences. Advanced Android & Kotlin Stack: Leverage Jetpack components (ViewModel, LiveData, Room, WorkManager, Navigation) and modern Kotlin features (Coroutines, Flow) to build clean, efficient, and modular apps. Security & Compliance: Incorporate secure authentication methods (OAuth2, biometric), encrypted data storage, and best practices in Android security to meet stringent medical standards. Performance Optimization: Profile applications for optimal speed, memory usage, and power efficiency while managing concurrency and background processes with Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, and RxJava. Modern UI & UX: Utilize Jetpack Compose, custom Views, animations, and advanced UI rendering optimizations to deliver intuitive and visually compelling user experiences, mindful of medical user flows. Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop comprehensive unit, UI, and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito, Espresso) to maintain flawless app performance and reliability, essential for healthcare solutions. Clean Architecture & Modularization: Structure codebases following MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture principles for easy scalability and maintainability. CI/CD & Agile Collaboration: Set up automated build pipelines and closely collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring continuous improvement and timely delivery of critical features. Requirements: Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 3 to 5 + years of proven experience in native Android development with Kotlin. Deep expertise with Android SDKs, Jetpack libraries, and modern Android development tools. Strong proficiency in Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, and concurrency, with a focus on real-time data management. Solid understanding of Dependency Injection (Dagger, Hilt, Koin) and MVVM, Clean Architecture. Experience building secure, high-performance appspreferably in regulated industries (MedTech a plus). Proficiency in performance profiling (Android Profiler, LeakCanary, StrictMode) and debugging. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and WebSocket implementation for real-time communication. Strong knowledge of encryption, secure data storage, and medical device-level privacy practices. Experience in setting up CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitrise) and managing app deployments. Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience in Bluetooth, NFC, and hardware integrationespecially relevant for medical device connectivity. Exposure to AI/ML integrations in Android applications. Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) for cross-platform solutions. Knowledge of AR/VR frameworks and real-time rendering. Proven track record of publishing advanced, high-fidelity apps on Google Play.
