Job Description
- Position Title : Firewall Developer. Location : Noida (Onsite). Job Type : Full-time / Contract. Key Responsibilities Development & Design : Design, develop, and implement new features and capabilities for firewall systems (stateful, packet filtering, and next-generation firewalls). Protocol Knowledge : Work with various networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, and others, and ensure that the firewall can handle different types of network traffic. Security Standards : Implement security best practices to ensure firewall integrity, including secure code development and vulnerability assessments. Optimization : Ensure that the firewall software is highly optimized for performance in terms of throughput and latency. Threat Detection : Develop methods for detecting, blocking, and reporting potential threats such as malware, DDoS attacks, and intrusions. Integration : Collaborate with other security solutions, such as intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and security information and event management (SIEM) tools. Testing & Validation : Conduct comprehensive testing, including unit tests, integration tests, and performance testing to ensure the firewall works under various scenarios. Maintenance : Monitor and maintain the firewall software, applying patches and updates to address vulnerabilities and improve functionality. Documentation : Maintain thorough documentation of all development processes, system architectures, and troubleshooting steps. Required Skills & Qualifications Programming Languages : Proficient in languages like C, C++, Python, Go, Java, or other languages commonly used in network and systems development. Networking Expertise : In-depth knowledge of networking concepts (OSI model, TCP/IP stack, routing, and switching). Firewall Architecture : Hands-on experience in designing and building firewalls, understanding of stateful vs. stateless firewalls, packet filtering, and application-level filtering. Security Knowledge : Architect, deploy, and manage advanced security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, endpoint security, SD-WAN, and NAC. Implement security policies and procedures to safeguard the organization's infrastructure. Operating Systems : Proficient in working with Linux/Unix-based systems, including kernel-level programming, and experience with Windows server environments. Firewalls and IDS/IPS Systems : Experience with popular firewall solutions (e. , Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks) and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Performance Tuning : Experience in optimizing network traffic processing for performance under high loads. Troubleshooting & Debugging : Strong skills in network and system troubleshooting. Collaboration : Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product managers, other engineers, and security specialists. Problem Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate security threats. Preferred Qualifications Software Development Practices : Familiarity with version control systems (e. , Git), agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines. Advanced Security Tools : Experience with threat intelligence platforms, SIEM systems, and automated security response solutions. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Network Engineering, or related field. 4+ years of experience software development, product development or a related role.
