Job Title: Electrician (Rice Manufacturing Company)
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance of Electrical Systems:
Install and set up electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems used in rice processing (e.g., rice mills, packaging machines).
Regularly inspect and perform maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to prevent malfunctions and improve reliability.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnose electrical faults in machinery, motors, and wiring, and perform repairs or replacements to restore functionality.
Use diagnostic tools and electrical schematics to identify problems and implement solutions.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all electrical systems adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and electrical codes (e.g., NEC National Electrical Code).
Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear to minimize risks, especially in high-voltage environments.
Upgrades and Modifications:
Implement upgrades to electrical systems to improve efficiency or accommodate new machinery or technologies.
Modify wiring and control systems as needed to optimize the production processes in rice manufacturing.
Monitoring and Testing:
Continuously monitor electrical systems to ensure they operate efficiently and within specified parameters.
Test electrical systems and components regularly to check for wear and tear, ensuring they remain in good working condition.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Work closely with other maintenance staff, engineers, and management to prioritize maintenance tasks and ensure equipment uptime.
Document maintenance schedules, reports, and troubleshooting activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Electrical knowledge: In-depth understanding of electrical circuits, control systems, motors, and automation systems, especially in industrial settings.
Familiarity with manufacturing equipment: Experience with rice processing machines (e.g., milling machines, dryers, packaging equipment) is beneficial.
Wiring and panel installation: Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, panels, and motor control circuits.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
Ability to use testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, and infrared thermometers) to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems efficiently.
Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and other automation systems used in industrial environments.
Knowledge of Safety Standards:
Knowledge of electrical safety practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, and adherence to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations and other safety standards.
Familiarity with safety systems such as circuit breakers, emergency shut-offs, and grounding.
Mechanical Aptitude:
Understanding of mechanical systems as they often interact with electrical systems in machinery.
Ability to work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems when they integrate with electrical equipment.
Physical Stamina and Manual Dexterity:
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including standing for long periods and performing tasks in confined or high places (e.g., machine enclosures).
Comfort with working with large machinery and industrial tools.
Problem-Solving and Attention to Detail:
Ability to think critically and solve complex electrical issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
