Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with instructors and content creators to understand the learning objectives and target audience for each educational video.
- Edit and assemble raw video footage, screen captures, and audio recordings to create high-quality educational videos that align with the Academy's standards and guidelines.
- Ensure a smooth flow and logical progression of the video content by trimming, rearranging, and refining video segments.
- Enhance video content with appropriate visual effects, graphics, animations, and transitions to effectively communicate complex technical concepts.
- Incorporate text overlays, subtitles, and closed captions to improve accessibility and facilitate understanding for a diverse audience.
- Edit and synchronize audio recordings, including voiceovers, background music, and sound effects, to ensure optimal audio quality and clarity.
- Conduct quality checks on edited videos to ensure consistent video and audio quality, correct timing, and adherence to the Academy's brand and style guidelines.
- Collaborate with the content team to create engaging intros, outros, and interstitials to enhance the overall learning experience.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and software tools related to video editing, motion graphics, and instructional design, and implement innovative approaches to enhance the educational videos.
- Manage and organize the video library, including file organization, backup, and archiving, to ensure efficient access and retrieval of video assets
Desired Candidate Profile
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor, preferably in the field of education or e-learning.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your video editing skills and experience with educational or instructional videos.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
- Excellent understanding of video formats, codecs, frame rates, and resolutions, and ability to optimize video content for online platforms.
- Proficiency in audio editing software and sound mixing techniques.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and the ability to visually communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work within established timelines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with screen recording software and techniques for capturing software demonstrations and coding activities is a plus.
