- This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Overview The Data Science Lead plays a critical role in harnessing data-driven insights and building innovative data science solutions to improve business outcomes. They act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that the utilization of data aligns with organizational goals. This position entails leading a team of data scientists and analysts to design, develop, and implement advanced analytical models. The Data Science Lead is responsible for not only overseeing the technical execution of projects but also cultivating a culture of data literacy and fostering cross-functional collaboration. They are expected to stay current with trends in data science and related technologies, articulating the strategic value of their initiatives effectively. This role is paramount in ensuring that the organization remains competitive in a data-centric environment, leveraging data to inform decisions and foster innovation. Key Responsibilities Lead the data science team in developing predictive models and algorithms. Define and drive the strategic vision for data science initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities through data analytics. Oversee data collection, cleansing, and preprocessing to ensure high-quality datasets. Implement machine learning techniques and statistical analysis methods. Guide the team in designing experiments to test hypotheses. Mentor junior data scientists and promote best practices in the team. Communicate insights and findings to stakeholders clearly and effectively. Monitor and evaluate the performance of data models and techniques. Stay updated on the latest advancements in data science and analytics. Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure timely execution. Conduct training sessions to enhance data literacy across the organization. Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams for data management solutions. Assist in budget planning, forecasting, and resource allocation for projects. Participate in talent acquisition processes by interviewing and assessing data science candidates. Required Qualifications Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in data science or a related analytical role. Strong background in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Deep understanding of statistical methods and data analysis techniques. Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). Proven leadership experience in managing teams and projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to translate complex findings into actionable business insights. Experience working with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure). Strong problem-solving skills with a data-oriented mindset. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL). Understanding of data governance and compliance issues. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
