Job Description
- Summary: We are looking for a talented and motivated Hardware & Firmware Design Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a key role in the development of next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) devices, from concept to production. This role requires a strong background in designing hardware, PCB layout, firmware development, and testing for IoT devices. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in hardware design, proficiency in embedded C programming, and a deep understanding of communication protocols. Responsibilities: Hardware Design: Work closely with engineering teams to understand device requirements and translate them into hardware specifications. Design and layout schematics for IoT devices. Select and integrate electronic components (sensors, microcontrollers, power management, etc.) considering size, cost, and performance constraints. Perform PCB layout using industry-standard software (e.g., KiCad, Altium Designer). Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) analysis. Firmware Development: Write and maintain embedded C code for IoT devices, focusing on efficiency and reliability. Develop low-level drivers for sensors, communication modules, and other peripherals. Implement communication protocols like TCP/IP, MQTT, HTTP, and potentially others depending on project needs. Optimize firmware for performance, power efficiency, and memory utilization. Testing and Validation: Prototype production and initial testing of hardware components and subassemblies. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure functionality, performance, and regulatory compliance of IoT devices. Perform thorough testing and quality assurance of PCBs and circuit boards to ensure functionality and reliability. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in hardware and firmware design for IoT devices (or similar embedded systems). Proficiency in PCB design software (KiCad, Altium Designer, or equivalent). Strong understanding of electronic components, circuit design principles, and embedded system architectures. Strong understanding of embedded systems and firmware development using C programming language. Familiarity with various communication protocols (TCP/IP, MQTT, HTTP, etc.). Experience with cellular technologies (GPRS, GSM, LTE, NB-IoT) and/or wireless technologies (WiFi, Bluetooth, BLE) a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Min 3 years and above of experience in hardware design, PCB layout, and firmware development for IoT devices. Proficiency in schematic design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro) and PCB layout software. Strong understanding of embedded systems and firmware development using C programming language. Familiarity with hardware testing methodologies, validation techniques, and quality assurance processes. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
