Purpose & Scope This position will be a highly analytical and detail-oriented Analyst, Insights to join the CMO Office within Medical & Development at Astellas. This role focuses on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify industry trends, competitive benchmarks, and key performance metrics. The successful candidate will support decision-making across multiple business functions, including R&D, commercial, and operational areas, to enhance competitiveness and drive strategic growth. Responsibilities And Accountabilities Data Collection and Analysis - Gather data from internal and external sources, including market research, industry reports, and competitor performance data. Analyze data to identify industry benchmarks and trends in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. Provide actionable insights to inform product positioning and strategic decisions. Benchmarking insights - Design and execute benchmarking studies focused on areas such as R&D productivity, pipeline success rates, cost structures, and operational performance. Compare organizational performance against industry standards to identify gaps and improvement opportunities. Insights Reporting - Develop detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings to key stakeholders. Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations tailored to diverse audiences. Cross-functional Collaboration - Partner with teams in at minimum Finance, Development Project Management, Corporate Strategy and Clinical Operations to align benchmarking insights with business objectives. Act as a subject matter expert on benchmarking methodologies and tools. Continuous Improvement - Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in benchmarking and analytics Quantitative Dimensions May provide additional assistance to the reporting and analytics area May interact with external industry data reporting vendors, as applicable Organizational Context The position reports to the Head of CMO Office, Strategic Insights. The position will work closely with other functions within the CMO Office to support any gaps or improvements needed in the insights being reported. The position works cross-functionally with other Astellas groups to develop and implement excellence in business and clinical operations. Required Bachelor degree in Business, Data Science, Economics, Life Sciences, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in benchmarking, data analysis, or competitive intelligence, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS). Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information succinctly. Solid understanding of pharmaceutical industry dynamics, including drug development processes, market trends, and regulatory environments. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects efficiently.
