Job Description
- Purpose of the Role: This role is responsible Program and Project management of SDV implementation across Commercial vehicle platforms and end to end product life cycle. The PMO role is responsible for delivery of Software and Services (S&S) & associated hardware across entire vehicle. This role needs to work closely with all internal and external stakeholders while managing the programs. This position exists to drive SDV implementation keeping track of time, quality and cost targets. The Software lead is responsible for development, test and delivery of state-of-the-art electronic ECU features for Commercial vehicles. Lead Main role for SDV, complying to all Standards for SDV , Soafee , Autosar consortium , CI/ CD pipeline , Cloud virtualization Cutting across E&E for All development of ADAS / Cluster and infotainment Plan for the deployment of software updates and new features across fleets of commercial vehicles. Consider factors like over-the-air updates (OTA), maintenance schedules, and minimizing downtime during software upgrades. Job Responsibilities: Planning and Execution Ensuring that all business deliverables are identified and accounted for in the project plan with responsibility, resources - people, budget, facilities, timeline as per product development process. Prepare and maintain project related documentation. Defines program strategy, balancing customer and other requirements Manage the identification, documentation, and traceability of business requirements Align cross-functional business and technical teams to help ensure alignment of goals and to help resolve conflicting priorities Developing tracking scorecards and metrics to illustrate status and ownership. Develop project status reports for senior leadership for continuous monitoring Track business resources and identify any shortages based on project plans Provide guidance and support during execution of change management Serve as the organizations thought leader and subject-matter-expert on PMO planning and project execution effectiveness and drive continuous improvement in core planning and PMO processes and tools. Key Actions and Decisions Finalization of overall SDV strategy across CV portfolio of Tata Motors. To lead strategic process and systems discussions with senior leadership including SDV architecture finalization, TATA OS, Cloud services etc. Align cross-functional business and technical teams to help ensure alignment of goals and to help resolve conflicting priorities. Driving the finalization of strategies of Software Quality, Operations management etc. Improvement opportunities: Alignment to SW development compliance like ASPICE Agile product development processes Strategy with high level of modularity People Development: Competency development in the domain of SDV & associated sub-domains Cascade of BSC targets to individual KRAs. Distribution of responsibilities by deploying the RACI tool. System Design: Develop a robust software architecture that supports the unique functionalities required in commercial vehicles. This may include real-time data processing, fleet management capabilities, integration with existing vehicle systems (like telematics and sensors), and user interfaces tailored for commercial use. Agile Development: Adopt agile methodologies to iteratively develop and refine software solutions. This approach allows for flexibility in responding to changing requirements and ensures continuous improvement based on feedback from stakeholdersTesting and Validation: Implement rigorous testing protocols to validate software functionality, reliability, and safety. This includes simulation testing, real-world testing in controlled environments, and compliance with industry standards such as ISO 26262 for functional safety.Data Security and Privacy: Ensure robust cybersecurity measures to protect vehicle data, customer information, and operational integrity. Implement encryption, access controls, and secure communication protocols to mitigate potential risks. Compliance and Certification: Adhere to regulatory requirements and obtain certifications necessary for deploying SDVs in commercial applications. This includes certifications related to safety, emissions, vehicle performance, and autonomous driving capabilities. Stakeholder Profiles & Nature of Interactions: Internal CTO & ELTM Management review : Project progress. Periodic strategy review AE, E&E, DPDS Review project progress and delivery as per Gen 3/ Gen 4 NPI. Review to resolve interface issues Other functions of ERC Compliance on SW development requirements VATS Team Review Attribute Featuring, arbitrate conflicting attributes, priorities, Sign-off attributes and ensure compliance Finance Team : Alignment to budget Purchase & Supplier Quality Feed Engineering inputs for supplier finalization. Review Supplier quality issues and cost escalations. TRSO, Supplier assessment before nomination Service and Customer Support Change management External Suppliers and Consultants Understand new technology roadmap. Review part development progress. Critical issue management. Understand new technology roadmap. Understand Systems & dependencies required for introduction of new tech. Desired Candidate Profile: Technical Expertise: Software Development: Strong proficiency in software engineering principles, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software architecture. Embedded Systems: Experience with embedded software development, especially in the context of automotive systems, including real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontrollers. Autonomous Systems: Familiarity with algorithms and technologies related to autonomous driving, such as sensor fusion, localization, path planning, and perception. Cloud and Connectivity: Understanding of cloud computing principles, IoT (Internet of Things), and connectivity protocols relevant to fleet management and over-the-air updates. Industry Knowledge: Commercial Vehicles Sector: Understanding of the commercial vehicle industry, including fleet operations, logistics, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics. Automotive Standards: Knowledge of automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262), cybersecurity requirements, and industry best practices for software development and deployment. Emerging Trends: Awareness of emerging technologies and trends in autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles (EVs), and mobility solutions impacting commercial fleets. Educational Qualification:- MBA, Electrical/ Electronic/ Mechanical Engineering Graduate with 15+ years of experience in domain of program & project management PMP Certification Preferred Understanding of New Product Development Process -Project Planning, Monitoring & Execution of automotive projects. Knowledge of business case and financials. Knowledge of quality tools like DFMEA, DVP, and QFD (preferred). Automotive industry knowledge.
