Job Description
- Accurately record and manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, cash receipts, accounts receivable, credit card transactions, and payroll processing.
- Perform timely month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in key accounts such as net assets, investments, revenue, expenses, and payroll allocations.
- Ensure proper recognition of revenue and expenses in compliance with financial policies.
- Monitor cash and investment balances, conduct cash flow forecasting, and support financial planning.
- Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal/state regulations for all financial operations.
- Assist the Director of Finance and budget managers in developing and monitoring departmental, project-based, and organizational budgets.
- Support monthly financial reporting and fiscal year-end close processes, including coordinating with external auditors.
- Regularly communicate with the Director of Finance to provide updates on financial matters.
- Identify and implement process improvements in finance and accounting operations through technology, including training staff on financial software.
- Manage select administrative responsibilities, such as state unemployment and income tax registrations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.
