Accurately record and manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, cash receipts, accounts receivable, credit card transactions, and payroll processing.
Perform timely month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in key accounts such as net assets, investments, revenue, expenses, and payroll allocations.
Ensure proper recognition of revenue and expenses in compliance with financial policies.
Monitor cash and investment balances, conduct cash flow forecasting, and support financial planning.
Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal/state regulations for all financial operations.
Assist the Director of Finance and budget managers in developing and monitoring departmental, project-based, and organizational budgets.
Support monthly financial reporting and fiscal year-end close processes, including coordinating with external auditors.
Regularly communicate with the Director of Finance to provide updates on financial matters.
Identify and implement process improvements in finance and accounting operations through technology, including training staff on financial software.
Manage select administrative responsibilities, such as state unemployment and income tax registrations.
Perform additional duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.
