- Job Title: SDE III - Backend (Java) Location: Mumbai/Bengaluru (Onsite) Compensation: Up to 80 LPA Experience Level: 7+ years About the Role We are looking for an experienced SDE III - Backend (Java) to design and develop high-scale, high-performance distributed systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will take ownership of architecting, designing, and deploying complex backend services from scratch. You will play a critical role in ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency, while also mentoring junior engineers and fostering a strong engineering culture. Key Responsibilities System Design & Architecture Design and develop scalable and fault-tolerant microservices with a deep understanding of distributed system principles. Backend Development Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable Java code while ensuring best coding practices. Hands-on Development Spend 70%+ of your time coding, writing efficient and optimized code for high-throughput applications. Database Management Work with Kafka, SQL, or NoSQL databases to design scalable data architectures and ensure high availability. Production Ownership Own end-to-end deployment of services on production (not relying on QA or DevOps teams), ensuring reliability and observability. Performance Optimization Optimize applications for high concurrency, throughput (>1500 TPS/QPS/RPS), and low latency. Mentorship Guide and mentor junior engineers, conducting design reviews, code reviews, and providing technical leadership. Key Requirements Strong Java Expertise Hands-on experience with Java (current or previous) and a strong understanding of JVM internals, concurrency, and multi-threading. System Design & Scalability Experience in designing at least 4 complex systems/microservices from scratch with a deep understanding of distributed architectures. Database & Messaging Experience with Kafka OR SQL OR NoSQL databases for scalable data storage and messaging systems. Microservices & Cloud Strong experience with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS). Production Readiness Experience in deploying, monitoring, and maintaining production systems (preferably working with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.). High Scale & Throughput Proven experience working on high-scale applications handling 1500+ TPS/QPS/RPS. Mentorship & Leadership 1-2 years of experience mentoring junior engineers, conducting code reviews, and making architectural decisions.,
