- Dear Candidates we are looking for Procurement Manager (SCM) for our client location - Chennai B.Tech with MBA ( Supply Chain / Material Management) Experience (Specify, if any particular area or industry preference) Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience Fluency in English / Speaking Hindi is value added Roles and Responsibilities: Responsible for the coordination of a wide variety of purchasing activities of all kinds of products like Mechanical, Electrical, castings, raw Material for production; Also the role is key to leading the Company forward in developing vendors suppliers of materials and components covering price delivery and quality targets. Managing and controlling all the company's external suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of Materials and logistic services. Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price with required quality and time bound delivery. Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company's needs. Identify new suppliers as per the criticality of supplies, design terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates. Foster close working relationships with associated departments e.g. Engineering & Projects, Production Planning and Control, Manufacturing, Finance & Administration. Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spends. To carry out a comprehensive review of the Purchasing function and its methodology and identify and implement improvements. Track material cost for each project in order to ensure that planned material cost for each project is achieved.
