Sub Function: Business Head/ General Management with P & L responsibility
Team Size: 9 VP/AVP/Sr AVP grade Direct reports with total manpower strength of 1700+ under them
Reporting to: Executive Director: Bio, Retail and Crop Protection
Hierarchy of the Vacancy: [AVP/Sr AVP]->[VP & SVP]->EVP (MG9)->President/ED->Vice Chairman
Overseas Travel required (Y/ N): Need Basis
Working Days: 5 days a week
Time Spent Travelling: Significant National and International travel required
Geographical Area to be covered: PAN India
Education/Qualification: Graduate/PG in Engineering preferably Chemical Technology / Pharmaceutical /Agri with Full Time MBA/ Management Studies from well reputed Business School
Overall years of Experience: 25+ years of experience in the agri / allied chemicals business; experience of managing/leading exports OR Domestic markets for these product categories
Key deliverables for the role holder:
- Devise business strategy for the Crop Protection Chemicals Business in consultation with ExecutiveDirector -CPC, Bio & Retail, members of the executive team and Agri Inputs leadership team.
- Explore opportunities for growth (both organic and inorganic options) of the business in new geographies in consultation with management team.
- Lead business foray into adjacencies like CDMO domain and specialty chemicals.
- Develop a plan to ensure that a robust product pipeline for the future is maintained and drive R & D product innovation.
- Identify and drive business growth in existing geographies and accounts with inputs from Agri Leadership team.
- Oversee and enable manufacturing operations - productions volumes as per plan and product quality
- Ensure Governance and adherence to statutory compliances, safety and environmental norms
- Build infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities through Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Projects
- Plan for key operational excellence initiatives through process improvements/ quality projects etc. for the Business and drive / review execution.
- Build and manage relationships with key suppliers, key customers, and key government officials.
- Drive customer centricity though initiatives that will enable faster resolution of customer complaints, capture customer feedback and ensure improvement of customer satisfaction.
- Institutionalise MIS and analytics to drive business decision making viz pricing decisions, customer complaints, financial performance, variance of costs vs. budgets etc.
- Drive adoption of Technology and leverage IT applications which will provide a competitive advantage to the business and assist in growth and sustainability of the business through improvement of Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations.
Experience:
- Around 25 years of experience in the agri / allied chemicals business.
- Experience of heading overall business operations including export markets for these product categories.
- Ideally from crop protection/ pharma industry with first-hand experience running operations, R & D, Sales & Mktg. at least at different points in time in his/her career
- Should have managed P & L - driving both top-line and bottom-line, and experienced / led organisational transformation and growth
