- Job Title: Program/ Centre Manager, Centre for Economic Data and Analysis Reports to: Professor Ashwini Deshpande, Centre for Economic Data and Analysis Location: Ashoka University Campus Experience (in years): 5-8 years of experience Nature of work: Contractual About Ashoka University: https://www.ashoka.edu.in/ About the Department: The Centre for Economic Data & Analysis (CEDA) aims to facilitate informed debate about economic and social developments and to contribute to public discussions on policy relevant issues in India. It has released 102 research and policy publications and more than 200 data visualizations. Its work has been cited or mentioned in Indian parliament and in foreign and Indian media including BBC, the Wall Street Journal, Quartz, the Times of India, the Indian Express, Scroll, the Print and the Wire. In addition to the analytical content, CEDA has constructed an interactive data portal with socio-economic data for India on indicators including employment, wages, education, health and demographic characters from several data sets. Check out our website (https://ceda.ashoka.edu.in/). Role and Responsibilities: The broad job description includes, but is not restricted to, the following. The actual tasks can be worked out according to CEDA needs and the candidates skill set. The candidate will work closely with Prof Ashwini Deshpande Chief Advisor and Academic Director, CEDA and the faculty advisory committee members. Responsible for ensuring that CEDAs day-to-day operations align with the strategic goals. This could include managing resources, and ensuring that operations run efficiently to meet the centers targets. Manage project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately and that costs are controlled. Assist in planning and organising events (lectures, panel discussions etc.). Managing all communications related to internal reporting within the Ashoka ecosystem: working with the Editor in generating newsletters and managing social media handles. Manage relationships with existing funders, network of scholars and internal stakeholders Continuously assess and improve project management processes and methodologies. Ensure best practices for data management and analysis are followed across all projects. Participate in the recruitment and training of new team members as necessary Qualifications: Postgraduate degree or higher in Economics, Data Science, Public Policy, or a related field. At Least 5-8 years of experience in a similar set up. Strong co-technical skills, familiarity with survey-based and administrative datasets, and knowledge of statistical language and software Skills Required: Drive, vision, an eye for generating new ideas based on current economic issues. The person should have passion for making high-quality data and research accessible to the wider public Good communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work independently Demonstrated ability to lead a team Demonstrated ability to build networks and partnerships Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects Willingness to continuously learn,
