- Overview The ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) Engineer is a pivotal role within our organization, tasked with ensuring the seamless functionality and stability of our ServiceNow applications through automated testing. This position plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of our IT service management (ITSM) offerings by reducing manual testing efforts, accelerating deployment cycles, and maintaining high standards of efficiency. The ATF Engineer will collaborate closely with developers, project managers, and quality assurance teams to design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts, contributing significantly to our DevOps objectives. By harnessing the power of automation, this role empowers teams to focus on strategic initiatives while ensuring that our ServiceNow environment remains robust and adaptable to changing business requirements. With an emphasis on continuous improvement, the ATF Engineer will also be responsible for refining existing test cases and incorporating best practices in automated testing methodologies. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement automated test scripts using ServiceNow ATF. Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to define testing requirements and test coverage. Execute automated tests and report on results, identifying areas for improvement. Maintain existing automated test scripts, ensuring they remain relevant and effective. Conduct root cause analysis of test failures and work with teams to resolve issues. Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes. Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines for streamlined deployment. Document testing protocols, procedures, and best practices for team reference. Stay updated on ServiceNow updates and new features to enhance testing strategies. Train and mentor team members on ATF standards and best practices. Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing insights into testing progress and resource needs. Analyze and report on testing metrics to inform stakeholders of quality assurance statuses. Automate regression tests to ensure consistent application performance across updates. Work alongside the QA team to ensure comprehensive system testing coverage. Assist in developing and maintaining testing environments for various deployment stages. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in ServiceNow implementation and support. Strong knowledge of ServiceNow ATF and capability to create test scripts. Experience with JavaScript or other programming languages relevant to testing. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and development lifecycle. Proven experience in automation testing tools and frameworks. Ability to analyze business requirements and create detailed test cases. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Experience working in a DevOps environment is a plus. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in teams. Certification in ServiceNow or relevant testing frameworks is an advantage. Understanding of ITSM processes and workflows within ServiceNow. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with performance testing tools and techniques is beneficial. Proficiency in test management tools and reporting practices. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and new technologies.
