Job Description
Strong experience on administrating Win 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016 OS,
Installation & Configuration Managed Virtualization Environment using VMware ESXi 5.56.06.5, VMware vSphere 6, Virtual Center, VI Client, P2V
Installation, Configuration, Administration and Troubleshooting of ESXi, VSphere, Virtual Center, VI Client & Windows OS.
Creating and Managing Virtual Machines and Templates Creating Clusters for High Availability (HA) and Distributive Resource Scheduling (DRS) Configured Resource Pool, V Motion, Alerts, Alarms, NTP
Migrate Physical Servers to Virtual Server using VMware Converter. Migrating of Virtual Machines using V Motion Performing Snapshots, Cloning, Cold Migrations and Hot Migrations Scheduling VDP Backup jobs and restoring the same backup when required.
Creating Templates from VMs, deploy VMs from templates and allocate resources Monitoring of Virtual Machines & ESX servers (CPU, Memory, Disk and Network Utilization) for Security.
Converting P2V and V2V using VMware Standalone Converter. Creating duplicate Virtual Machines using cloning technology.
Creation of Virtual Switches, Ports and Port groups and setting up Security Policies for Virtual Networks.
Troubleshooting issues relating to v motion such as compatibility issues with help of event log.
Setting up Users and Groups for access to the Virtual Center. Moving VMs from one LUN to another LUN using Storage V-Motion. Performance tuning of VMware servers, Virtual sessions and management of server resources between Virtual Machines. Root Cause & System Log Analysis and reporting.
Organize tasks, events and Configuring alarms. VM monitoring using VRealize Operation Manager.
Creating and management of Data stores. Patching of ESXi servers using Update Manager.
Managing Active Directory related operations and daily task of monitoring and checking replication.
Creating Backup Policies in Symantec NetBackup and restoring the files from backup.
Monitoring Exchange Mailbox along with DB status and Queue. Monitoring EMC SourceOne Archiving and Journaling policies.
Hardening of ESXi servers & Windows Servers as per VA-SHC reports shared by Security Team
Should have good knowledge in scripting language like Shell scripting in VB & PowerShell.
Knowledge of Windows Azure/ other cloud platforms is added advantage.
Should have good troubleshooting skill and apply best solution and approach in solution.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
Strong expertise on production support, application support on multiple environments Knowledge of ITIL best practices (Incident, change and problem management
